Beaded Kite Earrings — Tutorials & Patterns

Kite earrings are the modern classic of beadwork: a crisp geometric triangle that tapers to a point, catches the light with every turn, and yet weighs almost nothing. They look intricate, but the shape grows naturally from triangle peyote — a perfect first "statement" project.

I build my kite earrings from Miyuki Delica 11/0 beads, weaving the triangle in 3D peyote so it holds its sharp shape, and finishing with metallic accents. One colour swap completely changes the mood of the pattern, so a single kite earrings tutorial can become a whole collection.

Below you will find my kite earring video tutorials, and in the pattern section — PDF charts with bead counts, plus Beadium, where you can recolour a kite pattern or draw your own from scratch.
